What to expect
Most toothpaste foams because of SLS — a detergent. The foam is a cosmetic effect. It has nothing to do with cleaning your teeth, and it can be hard on the oral microbiome.
We didn’t put any SLS in ours. So ours doesn’t foam. You get a smooth paste on the brush and a fresher, squeaky-clean mouth afterwards. This takes most people a few days to get used to. After that, they tell us they can’t go back.
The mineral your teeth are already made from
Same remineralisation job fluoride does. Different route — the one your body already uses.

The active ingredient
The same mineral your teeth are already made from.
5% (50,000 ppm) bonds to the enamel surface and rebuilds the microscopic wear that brushing and acidic food leave behind.
Micro, not nano — 1.5 micron particles. Too big to cross cell walls, the right size to bond to enamel.

Six botanical ingredients. All used for oral care long before toothpaste came in a plastic tube. Every one of them supports your health, backed by science .

Madagascar
The oil your grandmother reached for when a tooth ached. Rich in eugenol — antibacterial, mildly numbing, supports remineralisation. Still works.
PubMed 22997520
Italy
Cold-pressed from lemon peel. Demonstrates antimicrobial activity against oral bacteria linked to halitosis and plaque. Flavour doesn’t equal acidity.

China
The reason old-school mouthwashes smell medicinal. Eucalyptol reduces gingival inflammation and inhibits plaque biofilms. Good on gums.

Indonesia
Steam-distilled bark oil, rich in cinnamaldehyde. Inhibits oral pathogens and reduces biofilm formation.

Juice from the inner leaf. In a randomised controlled trial, aloe vera mouthwash reduced plaque and gum inflammation as effectively as chlorhexidine — without the side effects.
PubMed 39262544What’s not in the tube
SLS
A foaming detergent. Cosmetic. We didn’t need it.
Titanium Dioxide
Whitens the paste, not your teeth. Flagged by the EU as a food-safety concern. We didn’t need it.
Fluoride
Powered by hydroxyapatite instead — the same mineral your teeth are made from.
Palm Oil
Deforestation in a tube. We didn’t need it.
Saccharin
A synthetic sweetener. We don’t use any sweeteners at all — just a touch of plant-derived glycerine.
Artificial Flavours
We use real essential oils instead. Peppermint, fennel, orange, spearmint.
Founder note
The products I’d been using all my life weren’t touching any of it. I needed something natural that could make a real difference to health — using rich botanical ingredients with powerful medicinal qualities, and with clinical science to back them up. Nothing on the shelf did this. So I formulated Truthpaste myself.
Today, every jar is made in-house by our team in Brighton. Every ingredient earns its place — clinically proven to improve health, or it doesn’t go in. And I taste-test every batch myself before it ships.

Same shelf, completely different products.
Used the same way. Formulated completely differently.
