Marisa Battrick: Founder / CEO
Marisa is the founder and formulator of Truthpaste. She has been studying botanical ingredients and formulating for 9 years, working in R&D and product development.
Winner of the 2019 Princes Trust Enterprise Award for London and South East, and a finalist for the 2022 Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Health & Beauty category, her formulations have racked up 6 industry awards.
Her biggest achievement is “seeing the hundreds of people messaging us to say how much Truthpaste has helped improve their oral health”.
When she’s not in her lab, Marisa spends her time taking her rescue dog for walks along the beach, or training in kickboxing. She is also passionate about music and used to teach guitar as a student.
Lex Lake: Digital Marketing & Copywriter
Lex has been working in digital marketing for 12 years. After beginning their career in journalism, they spent a few years as a freelancer researcher, before specialising in the oral care industry.
Lex has spent the last 5 years researching and studying developments within the oral care industry, keeping a keen eye on the latest innovations and trends. Their passion for oral health and wellbeing is well documented across all of their campaigns.
Beyond their skills in marketing, they bring a unique storytelling perspective as a seasoned copywriter, actor, theatre director, and playwright.
When they’re not writing about oral health care, they can be found on stage, or backstage, at a local theatre company.
